This Privacy Policy describes how Merite (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
Merite helps users build healthier digital habits by turning completed tasks into earned screen time. We believe your data belongs to you. Merite is designed to keep your personal app data on your device. We do not sell your personal data, show third-party ads, or use your data for advertising tracking.
Merite uses Apple’s Screen Time API (Family Controls) to provide blocking functionality.
We do not require you to create an account to use Merite. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, messages, or browsing history.
Your preferences, focus history, task lists, screen time balance, and virtual rewards are stored locally on your device or synced via your personal iCloud account if enabled on your device. We do not have access to this personal app data.
To understand how our App is used and to improve its features, we use a privacy-focused analytics service called TelemetryDeck, alongside default Apple metrics (App Analytics). TelemetryDeck helps us track general usage events, such as when users complete onboarding, create a task, start a focus timer, change settings, or interact with premium-related screens. Important: We do not send TelemetryDeck your task titles, task notes, blocked app selections, browsing history, or specific websites you visit.
Merite offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions through Apple’s in-app purchase system. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase validation, subscription status, premium access, and restore purchases.
RevenueCat may process purchase-related information, such as product identifiers, transaction status, subscription status, and anonymous app user identifiers, as needed to provide premium access. Merite does not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are handled by Apple.

The App does not integrate with third-party advertising networks or data brokers. We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party advertising.
Because Merite stores core app data locally, protecting your device also helps protect your Merite data. We rely on iOS security features and Apple’s frameworks to help protect local data.
Merite does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require an account and is designed to keep user-created data on the device.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above.
